Keep your music and video files nicely sorted in a database, play media with the built-in player or with an external player, quickly locate media files, find and remove duplicates, create and manage playlists, print out reports – these are the main features you can expect from Media Catalog Studio.

Seeing that it’s less that 3MB in size, it’s safe to say that downloading the Media Catalog Studio installer will take little time. And seeing that a wizard will take you through the installation process, it’s also safe to say that little time and effort will go into getting the application up and running.

The main part of the interface displays a “Welcome to Media Catalog Studio!” text and features links for several tasks: add disks to a database, find files, search duplicates, and more. The interface isn’t exactly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, but it is quite easy to navigate and it gets the job done. From this user friendly interface you will have no problems accessing all the functionality Media Catalog Studio has to offer.

Speaking about functionality, there are many entries on the application’s list of features: support for numerous audio and video formats (MP3, WMA, APE, OGG, AVI, WMV, and more); support for numerous storage devices (HDD, CD-ROM, Flash, and more); support for PLS and 33U playlists; create and manage a multimedia collection; create and manage playlists; view statistics and reports; play media with the built-in player; find duplicates; edit tags; support for multiple languages; and more.

Please note that there are two Media Catalog Studio editions: Lite and Pro. The Lite edition, which is free for home and private use, comes with some limitations: cannot add more than 5 different disks to a catalog, cannot add more than 20 values to references.

Catalog, manage, and easily access music and videos with Media Catalog Studio for Windows.

Pros

You will have no problems getting Media Catalog Studio up and running on your PC. The application features a user friendly interface. Media Catalog Studio has lots of features to offer. There are two editions to choose from: Media Catalog Studio Lite and Media Catalog Studio Pro.

Cons

The lite version comes with some limitations.
